Otto Ristorante, Woolloomooloo
Who can resist the seductive qualities of a shared dessert platter? The ensuing fight for the last spoonful of chocolate mousse and the contemplation of manslaughter if one does not get their way is so enticing.
Otto is all about making an impression. Positioned neatly on the wharf on the harbour, seagulls chirping in the background, boats swaying by the tides - you might do something silly and romantic, like dropping your pants.
Lapses in service and in the kitchen (read: overdone lamb) is surprising at these rather lofty prices, but the flavours are simple and the presentation is immaculate. Quite fitting considering the dining clientele of couples on fancy dates and fancy dates for to-be couples. Avoid coming alone.
